Sabbath School

Sabbath School went pretty well yesterday. I ended up using felts (thank you Theresa) for the Bible story and the kids seemed to enjoy that! We sang quite a few songs, which always works well with Kindergarten and 1st graders! Last week to waste time, I was not prepared at all for how long SS was, we taught them Feliz Navidad, so we sang it again this week, some seem to catch on to the words and the tune and others need a bit more practice, so by the time we leave they should have it down!! lol
The only program they really have set up is a wild animals theme. So this week I talked about porcupines and how God made them with a shield, but we have to ask God to protect us. So the theme I tried to carry through was prayer. They have this song called ‘Telephone to Jesus’, so I had them teach it to us (Chantel and I). Chantel then told a story about God answering a prayer. I then looked at the time and realized that I needed to fill more time, so I told a story I was not planning on needing; it was an extra story that was with the porcupine information. It was nice and long, so using that story and then teaching them ‘My God is so Great’ worked well to fill the time I needed too!! lol Next week will be better because Lauren is going to start telling the story Jungle Thorn, Mrs. Waid has felts that go with it as well, so that should be fun! (and take time! Lol)
